Accomplished director, attending veterinarian, consultant, senior veterinary medical officer, and laboratory animal veterinarian with a 27-year plus experience managing research animal and veterinary medical programs for the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass Amherst), Georgia Health Sciences University (GHSU), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Pre-Clinical Research Services (PCRS), Saint Joseph’s Translational Research Institute (SJTRI) and Tulane University, with additional experience in private veterinary hospitals and clinics.
Recognized authority for infectious disease research involving complex and hazardous physical and/or biological agents and processes in biomedical, development or production environments, with or without arthropod transmission. Cited authority on issues of zoonotic diseases for public health research and programs. Professional consultant for vivarium design and renovation, operational review, research animal program oversight and support, development and revision of staff management programs, and animal health record software program development.
