Continuing Education

What is required?
Licensed Veterinarians are required to complete a minimum of 15 Continuing Education Credits
per calendar year to renew their license.

Minimum of 9 CE credits must be INTERACTIVE. To be accepted, the following criteria must be met:

  • The instruction must occur in real time (live in person or via online live stream).
  • There is required interaction between the licensee and the instructor.

This can include in-person conferences, interactive conferences, webinars or online workshops as long as they meet requirements above.

Maximum of 6 can be NON-INTERACTIVE.

  • This can include home study and pre-recorded webinars.

Has the Board of Registration of Veterinary Medicine relaxed guidelines due to the COVID-19 pandemic?


At this time the board has not changed or amended any requirements for CE. All of your CE can be completed online. For full guidelines, click here.
