Smartphone Ophthalmology: Principles and Applications in Practice ( 2 Hours)
All supported Apple (iPhone 7-17) and/or Android (2019 model releases - current) smartphones have the capacity to produce textbook quality images of all parts of the eye. This course will provide simple instructions that train-in immediate readiness to capture diagnostic ocular images, which provides substantial benefits in practice. Your ability to reach in your pocket and rapidly obtain diagnostic ocular images will improve your ophthalmic examination, bolster the electronic medical record, and enable more effective communication - with clients, associate veterinarians, and with veterinary ophthalmologists, when needed.
Dry Eye is Everywhere, You Just Need to Know Where to Look (1 Hour)
Canine dry eye may represent the most frequent ocular presentation in small animal practices. Despite high incidence rates, subtle and/or complex dry eye clinical presentations lead to a high frequency of missed diagnoses. Catching this disorder early in its presentation markedly improves patient prognoses, preventing blinding/painful complications such as infected corneal ulceration and corneal perforation. This lecture distills a broad disorder into digestible categories that will improve your ability to quickly pattern-recognize canine dry eye in your daily practice.
