We will cover three topics over the presentation. The first topic will be about canine psychopharmacology, or the use of fast and short acting medications to treat canine behavior concerns. The second topic will cover behavioral causes inappropriate elimination in cats, including inappropriate toileting and urinary marking. The third topic will cover owner-directed aggression in dogs- clinical signs, diagnoses and how to treat this common behavior concern.

Maggie O’Brian, DVM, MS, DACVB
Dr. Maggie O’Brian graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. She then completed a three-year residency program in Behavioral Medicine at Ohio State in 2021. In October of 2021, she earned her board certification with the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists.
Dr. O’Brian is the managing partner at Southeast Animal Behavior and Training, a behavior specialty practice in Charlotte, NC, as well as the managing partner at Virtual Veterinary Behavior Medicine, a virtual service to work with clients nationwide.
Dr. O’Brian lives in Charlotte with her husband, Colin, her young children, Wally and June, and her Beagle mix, Mashed Potatoes.
