Effective strategies for improving communication and co-regulation with clients and fellow co-workers.

Providing framework for understanding trauma in the context of veterinary medicine. Participants will learn about the nervous system activation cycle and self-soothing strategies that may improve their self-awareness, awareness of factors affecting clients, and their on-the-floor experience.

About the speaker: Emily Carveth, LMSW: Currently, Emily serves as a Veterinary Social Worker, providing short-term counseling, resources, and support groups for veterinary clients and staff. She held various roles in veterinary medicine for 16 years prior to entering the field of Social Work. These experiences have allowed her to be a part of people's life challenges and their healing journey in a heartfelt and meaningful way. Emily Carveth, LMSW is a Veterinary Social Worker, therapist, and former veterinary technician, who loves introducing new concepts to veterinary learners nationwide.
