Large animal veterinarians in New England – We need your input!

News,

Quality biosecurity practices within agricultural operations are critical to protect the health of humans and animals in their shared environment. In New England, agriculture is characterized by small-scale operations, including hobby and backyard ventures involving a limited number of livestock. Through this needs assessment study, the University of Connecticut Departments of Animal Science and Extension seek to identify small-scale/hobby operation biosecurity risks and opportunities as perceived by veterinary professionals. Findings will be used to inform educational programming and resource development for small-scale/hobby livestock owners. Veterinary professionals who complete the survey can opt in for a $50 Amazon gift card raffle. Questions? Email sara.tomis@uconn.edu
