Animal Rescue League of Fall River Job Opening

Dear Veterinarians,

Pssssst! Hey Veterinarians, please bring your eyes over here and take a few minutes to read about an excellent opportunity for two Veterinarian positions at our animal clinic. Before presenting my spiel to you, I would like you to consider these questions. Are you at the crossroads or the beginning of your Veterinary career? Are you ready for a new adventure? Are you looking for a place to shine and feel appreciated? Are you dreaming of a position where you can work with animals, have fun, be a part of a family atmosphere, and have more than adequate compensation? Then this is your opportunity day!

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you need to join our Animal Rescue League of Fall River family in Fall River, Massachusetts. We are not fly by night organization. Our Sylvan Animal Clinic was established in 1997. It is an integral part of the Animal Rescue League of Fall River, which was incorporated in June 1914. We have been rescuing, healing, and re-homing animals for over a century. The Sylvan Animal Clinic, although part of a non-profit organization, functions as a private practice. It has to because it supports our animal shelter. Now, don’t get the wrong idea as you might be thinking non-profit organization; what about compensation? My answer to that question is that our salaries and benefits package is very competitive with area clinics, whether corporate or private clinics. I will get to that a little later.

Let me speak honestly about our situation at the Sylvan Animal Clinic. The pandemic has significantly impacted us. During the past two years, our Veterinarians were recruited by Corporations. Sadly, our Sylvan Clinic has been temporarily closed until we fill two Veterinarian positions. We are in a place to create a new future for our Sylvan Clinic and focus on quality health care for animals instead of the bottom line dollar.

Don’t get me wrong; you will be more than compensated for your veterinary expertise. And we can establish whatever schedule we want. How about, for the most part, no more working weekends! I will say this categorically and unequivocally: no Sunday hours unless you want to come in and play with the kittens in our shelter.

To summarize, we are looking for two compassionate and skilled Veterinarians to provide animal care to a diverse pet owner population that embraces all socio-economic levels. We care for small animals, dogs, and cats.

Okay, I am done with my spiel, so now I can share with you what credentials we need for Veterinarians and what benefits we offer.

To be successful in this position, you should have:

- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution and a license to practice in Massachusetts

- Some experience as a Veterinarian (or a lot of enthusiasm)
