Emergency Compounds for Vet Use

The pharmacy Board has a policy that was put into place before the licensing of non-resident pharmacies that allows pharmacies to provide certain compounded medications to veterinarians for emergent office use.

However, the Pharmacy Board has heard that many veterinarians now get their supplies from outsourcing facilities. They have polled all of their licensed pharmacies, none of which provide compounded office supplies to vets. Because of this, they plan to rescind the policy at the September Board meeting.
